Vampire Sisters - part 1

Tonight was the night of the concert that mum and dad had saved tickets for. It had started at 3, but mum and dad thought it was to hot... so they had waited until about 5 to leave.
'See you later Zoe and Tash!' mum and dad called from the front door
'Cya mum! Cya dad!' we call back in unison from my bedroom
Tash and I were lying on the floor both staring at my laptop as we heard our parents get in the car and drive off. We both looked at each other and smiled as I clicked play on the Youtube web page. I had started watching one of my favourite shows on the site... because it wasn't yet out on DVD. Well in a language I could understand perfectly well anyway. So I was reading the subs when Tash came and asked to watch it with me.
'So what's happening again?' Tasha asked
I sighed and explained again. I hadn't gone back to the other episodes that she had missed and just continued from where I had been. So I had to fill in the gaps for her.
Tomorrow we had to work. It wasn't a hard job but it did take a while and so we had to get up early so that we wouldn't fall asleep while working. We both decided that going to bed at around 10pm was a wise decision. So when the time came we changed, brushed our teeth and went to bed. I lay there for a while thinking.
I wonder if mum and dad are enjoying the concert? I thought as I lay on my back with my eyes shut. I rolled over and grabbed the pillow that always rested against the wall. I had four, two I slept one, one I leaned against and one that I always had placed over my chest. Recently I have been hugging the one I lean against and falling asleep. Maybe I was more insecure then I thought. I'll have to think into that one day.



~_~_~_~ Alex's POV~_~_~_~

Theodore and I were running down the street. We had to run at human pace which made getting away extremely difficult. It's not like we meant to walk into a hunter's bar! It just looked like the most interesting one on the block! So of course as soon as the front door closes everyone in the room turns to us with the promise of death in their eyes. Then to top it off Theodore turns to me and  says
'This is the last time you ever pick a bar'
and then we bolted right out the door. But seeing I had picked a real populated place... we had to run slower. Maybe Theodore was right. I shouldn't pick which bars we went into from now on.
'Alex. If we don't some how survive this. I will forever haunt you!!!' Theodore threatened as we turned into a side street.
Luckily for us, there was no one in site. So as soon as we reached the end of the alley, we volted over the wall and started running at our normal place.
We stopped when we thought that we had lost the hunters. I looked around to see that we were in front of a house with what looked like no one home
'Hey Theodore, I'm gonna see if there is anything good to eat in here! For some reason I have a craving to try some human food' I called over my shoulder as I walked to the front door of the building.
I looked at the lock that kept my from going inside. I could have just broken the glass door that stood before me. But then my crime would be so obvious that people would think a 10 year old broke in. So instead I opened the door with the powers that I had. The lock slipped open and I opened the door. I was greeted by the nice cool air that was pumping through the air conditioner.
'I swear Alex, one day you are going to get us either killed or locked up in a human prison' Theodore said as he followed in behind me.
As soon as the door closed behind us we froze, we could both hear the heart beat of two people. They were in different rooms and both were sound asleep. I looked over to Theodore to see him already shaking his head.
'I know what you're thinking Alex and I say it's a bad idea. We shouldn't even be here in the first place!'
I turned to face my best friend for well over 500 years 'But we will never get a chance like this again. How often do we get the chance to see humans sleeping? We can't do that in the Night dorm for they are all afraid we are going to make them into a midnight snack!' I exclaimed throwing my hands up into the air
A dark look crossed Theodore's face 'Do you want to wake those two people up or something?'
my hands fell down to my sides as I looked to the ground in shame. I couldn't help it when I got angry. That's why people normally stuck me with Theodore, he was like the only person that could calm me down.
'If it makes you happy we will quickly look at the sleeping humans. But then we are leaving. I can hear the heart beat and foot steps of the hunters closing in on us. If they find out we were here they will assume we bit these people and kill them' and with that he moved off into the direction that the heart beats were coming from.
I followed close behind. I noticed that Theodore glanced into the first room and then moved on without a second look. But when he looked into the second room. He stopped and stared. A look covered his face that I had never seen before. He looked happy. Like he could stare at the one sleeping human for the rest of his life and he wouldn't care. I walked straight past the first room and stood next to Theodore and looked at the girl in the bed. She had brown hair that just reached her shoulders. I hid a smile as I saw that she was spread out all over the bed. The blankets were half covering her face. So I walked past Theodore and went to remove the sheets that covered her face. But I was stopped when Theodore placed his hand on top of my arm
'Don't,' he whispered as he looked down at the girl's face, 'you might wake her up'
I looked up into his eyes. Again I had never seen the look that now graced his face. He looked like he was in heaven or something. That looking at this one girl would mean that he could survive forever without a single frown, without sadness. As long as this one human girl was forever with him.
Is this what its like when we find the one that is destined for us? I thought as I took my arm away.
'We should take her with us' I whispered watching Theodore.
He looked up at me with a surprised look on his face 'Why?' he asked shocked at my suggestion
I just raised an eyebrow at him 'Oh come on! As if you haven't noticed how you've been staring at this human! I would beat if I tasted her blood it would have your name written in it!' I said punching him in the arm lightly
the look that covered his face was priceless. It looked like an angel had just popped in front of him and told him that him being a vampire was a practical joke! I had to hold in my laughter as he turned to look back at the human. The same look coming back to his face
'Maybe you're right. Maybe she is the one that belongs to me' he whispered as he lowered his face to the humans
my eyes widened in shock 'You're not going to bite her here are you?'
Theodore didn't answer me. He only continued to lower his face to the girl's. Then he gently kissed her on the forehead. She didn't awaken, all she did was turn into the direction that Theodore was. The smile that covered his face in reply was amazing, it looked like someone had just given him the most precious thing on the planet.
'Theodore' the girl whispered and then turned over and cuddled up to the pillow that had moved around to be next to her. She gently jumped her face against the pillow and sighed again falling back into a deeper sleep.
'She's so beautiful'
I looked over to my best friend as he went to pick up the girl that lay before him. He didn't take the pillow out of her hands. Instead he took the blanket that was wrapped around her and made sure that none of his skin touched hers. He made sure that was comfortably wrapped and was completely safe. Not even a little bug could harm this girl while she was in his arms.
'Okay now I'm ready to go' Theodore said once the girl was safely in his arms
'What so we aren't even going to look at the other human?' I asked annoyed
Theodore gave me a blank look. 'I thought you had already looked at her' he stated calmly
I stormed out of the room and into the hall way 'No I didn't look. I went straight to you when I saw you standing there like an idiot' I threw over my shoulder as I entered the other room.
Then it was my turn to be the idiot. The girl lying in the bed was an angel. She had medium length dirty blonde hair. She was surrounded by pillows. Two were behind her head while one was by her side. The final pillow was draped across her chest. Theodore entered the room with the girl's head resting on his shoulder. But I couldn't take my eyes off the girl in the bed, my world suddenly changed from my friends, family, school, life... to this one human. Nothing mattered as long as she was in my life. She was everything, nothing mattered without her. I walked over to the bed, avoiding everything that was in my way without any thought
'Alex?' Theodore's voice said in some far off place.
Time had frozen as soon as I saw her. The girl's head was pointed towards me and her mouth was slightly open even though she was breathing through her nose. She rolled over suddenly and I froze into place, but she hadn't woken up she had rolled over to the pillow that rested against the wall. Now she held it tightly to her body, she clung to the pillow as a scared look came across her face. I had to resist the urge to awaken the girl, to take her away from the thing that was scaring her
'ALEX! What are you doing?!' Theodore said placing his hand over mine.
I glanced up at him to see him holding the other girl in one arm, she was carefully balanced there and she was still resting peacefully against his shoulder. Completely oblivious to the fact that she was going to be kidnapped by a vampire that had fallen in love with her in only a split second. A confused look came to my face as I looked up at my friend
'What do you mean?' I asked blankly
Theodore gave me a look that was meant to tell me off, but my mind was else where so he told me what I had done wrong. I turned my head to see that my hand was about to stroke the girls face. If my hand hand come in contact with the girls skin she would have awoken. I looked at her face to see that the dream had past and that now she was smiling. I copied it, I couldn't help it. Her smile was contagious.
'Come on Alex, now its your turn to be the kidnapper! We have to get out of here! I can hear the Hunters!' Theodore's panicked voice broke through my daze and I picked up the sleeping girl. Wrapped her up in blankets and fled from the house. Theodore was not far behind me. I quickly locked the door and then we both vanished into the night. No one would know about the missing girls until their family came home.
